I waiting for a custom icon settings option. ++
The first version with a local or remote URL is okay.

    As v2 maybe:
I use Homarr as a Dashboard. They have a built-in icon search function. I think that is a cool feature.
Maybe you can use free icon packs.

Hi! And thanks for using Freeter 🙂

Done in the new version (2.4.0). The reload button is now available in the auto-reload mode via both the header actions and the context menu.

If syncing triggered by Sync button (the same as for the other apps), without monitoring the sync dir for changes will be enough, then it would definitely make it easier to implement the feature and minimize possible bugs 🙂

    Thanks for posting the request!
The import/export feature is not implemented yet. It is on the planned features list.

At the moment you can manually copy the freeter data directory from one machine to another. Freeter stores its data in <AppData>/freeter2/freeter-data directory, where <AppData> is one of these depending on the operating system:

%APPDATA% on Windows $XDG_CONFIG_HOME or ~/.config on Linux ~/Library/Application Support on macOS
  • allow mouse forward & backward button

It is a very good idea.
I used version 1 a lot, I can say that since it was created and until it died.
The solution of @tjsdev is a good one.

    Hi Pietro,

Wow, 6 years 🙂 Welcome to the new Freeter! And thanks for the feedback!

it opens a new window that can never go behind the Freeter main window. Is it an expected behavior?

Expected 🙂 Previously Freeter opened "new tab" links in the same webpage widget, just like common links. However there were scenarios when that caused some issues. That's why I decided to add the new windows. The idea was to open them as child windows, so that when you switch to another app and then switch back to Freeter the child windows do not get lost. This also helps to not forget to close the unneeded windows.

I will need to think more about it. Maybe you have other ideas on what else could be added or changed to make the new windows more usable in your workflow?

    Hi,

Im really exited about the new Freeter. Is there roadmap somewhere?

There is no roadmap with exact dates, however I update the list of the planned features.

Feature idea: drag and dropping file to Freeter could create file opener widget.

I think it would be better if it will not be limited by the file opener widget and allow to create widgets by drag and dropping based on the dragged data. For example, a dragged file creates a file opener, a dragged text creates a note.

I'm still not sure how it's better to do in terms of ux for a scenario when some dragged data such as url might be used to create both a url opener widget and a link opener widget. Show a context menu asking to pick an exact widget after dropping? Maybe somebody have other ideas?
