File Opener Widget does not open text file

I added a File Opener Widget.
In the Widget Settings, set the File path to a text file (.txt extension).
The Open Files in is left at Default App, which on my system is Notepad++.
Still on the Widget Settings page, clicking on the file icon on the left, opens the text file as expected.
So I click on OK to save the Widget, and it is now visible in the Workflow.
Clicking on the just created File Opener Widget in the Workflow does nothing.

I expected the file to open in Notepad++, but it doesn't.

Using Freeter 2.4.0-beta portable.

Solved. My ignorance.

Discovered that the Edit Mode needed to be disabled. Can't edit the topic heading here, but should this be left, so others can read the solution?
